Definite time
From Teflpedia
Definite time (/ˈdefənət ˈtaɪm/) is time that has definiteness; i.e. it is specified at which time something happens.
In English, we can refer to definite time using:
- noun phrase adverbials, e.g. "this week", "next week", "yesterday", "tomorrow", "tonight", "last year".
- prepositional phrase adverbials, e.g. "at two o'clock", "in 3 minutes", "on Sunday".
- With "from... to..." between two time points
- With "for..." for time periods
Definite time can be hedged by using vague language, e.g.
"In a few minutes", or "in a week or so".
