Defective noun
From Teflpedia
A defective noun is a noun that has defectivity, so it lacks particular inflections.
In English, these are either (1) obligatory mass nouns that do not have plural forms - noting that often nouns that are frequently used uncountably do nevertheless have less frequently used countable forms, e.g. "water" (waters) or "oxygen" (oxygens).
Or they are uncountable plurals that lack a singular form, e.g. "trousers,” “clothes,” etc.
