Copular verb

A copular verb is a verb which links a subject to an adjective. For example: "She looks happy", "That sounds interesting", "this smells great".

Common copular verbs are "be" (specifically copular be), "seem", "appear", "become" and "get", and sense-related verbs of perception such as "look", "sound", "smell", "feel" and "taste". See Category:Individual copular verbs
