Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens (/ˈʧɑ:(r)lz ˈdɪkɪnz/, 1812-1870) was an English author.[1] His novels are popular source material for graded readers, e.g. [2][3]
The adjective Dickensian can be used to describe Victorian squalor. He is not however responsible for the exclamation "What the Dickens?!" which dates to Shakespeare.[4]
