Braille

From Teflpedia

Braille (Braille: ⠃⠗⠁⠊⠇⠇⠑) (/breɪl/; French: [bʁaj]) is a tactile writing system principally used by people who have visual impairments.[1] English can be written in Braille.[2]

Braille uses the Braille alphabet as characters.

Braille was invented by, and is named after Louis Braille.

One feature of English Braille is that it has lots of additional contractions to reduce the space taken up by text. Even then, a braille text typically takes up much more space than a printed text.

There is also IPA Braille for the International Phonetic Alphabet.
