Auxiliary contraction

From Teflpedia

An auxiliary contraction is a contraction of an auxiliary verb, particularly those in English[1].

This occurs with two of the primary modal verbs, i.e. be and auxiliary have:

Auxiliary verb Uncontracted form Contrated form Example(s)

is 's he’s, she’s, it’s, Alice’s, that’s
are 're we’re, you’re, they’re, Alice and Bob’re

has 's he’s, she’s, it’s, Alice’s, that’s
had 'd I’d, you’d, he’d, she’d, it’d, we’d, they’d, Alice’d

These are always stressed.
