From Teflpedia

An answer (/ˈænsə(r)/) is a response to a question.

The answer to a closed question is limited. The answer to a yes/no question is yes, no or I don't know. The answer to an alternative question is included in the question itself. The answer to an information question is information.

In response to an interesting answer, you can ask a follow-up question.

A rhetorical question either lacks an answer, has an implied answer, or the speaker discusses the answer themself.

Answers to tests can be found in the answer key.

The word answer is spelt with a silent W. Also, speakers with non-rhotic accent tend not to pronounce the final /r/ except before a vowel sound.
