From Teflpedia

Ancient Greek is a dead classical language that was spoken in Ancient Greece, approx. 9th century BCE to the 6th century CE.[1]

Greek has had an impact on English through a large number of loanwords, scientific jargon. Sometimes these loanwords have gone Greek-Latin-English or Greek-Latin-French-English.

Knowing Greek prefixes and suffixes can help decode an unknown word.

Unfortunately, teaching of Ancient Greek tends to follow the disproven and ineffective Grammar-translation method, as a result of the good language learners become teachers paradox, and because there is no communicative need for Greek.

Greek was written in the Greek alphabet.
