Absolute frequency

From Teflpedia

The absolute frequency is a type of frequency of an event consisting of the number of times that event occurs.

For example, Sandy went on holiday to Spain in 2020, 2022 and 2024. All her other holidays have been to different countries. So with reference to the event “going on holiday to Spain,” we can say, Sandy has been on holiday to Spain three times.

In English, the number of occurrences of an event is typically expressed using a numeral adverbial, including numeral adverbs (once, twice, thrice).

This provides the numerator part of the fraction that expresses temporal frequency.

The wh- phrase for number of occurrences is how many times.
