-ify is an English verb suffix, it's used to make verbs meaning "to make something"[1] It's also sometimes spelt -efy.

For example modify, ratify and unify[2]

These in turn are commonly nominalised with -ation (a combination of -ate and -tion) to make -ification, e.g. modification, ratification and unification.

There are often French cognates of these English words ending -ifier.
