⟨que⟩
From Teflpedia
⟨que⟩ is a consonant trigraph that occurs in English, a variant of ⟨qu⟩.
This occurs at the ends of words, e.g. [1]
Mutates to ⟨qu⟩ before most suffixes, but not the ones spelt ⟨‑s⟩.
⟨que⟩ can also occur as ⟨qu⟩ + magic E. As a rule, if the vowel is long, then it’s ⟨qu⟩ magic E; if it’s short, then it’s ⟨que⟩. The final E can also be acute, e.g. risque (would be risqué with an acute accent), which would be ⟨qu⟩+⟨é⟩. Latin-style pronunciation of ubique is /u:bɪkwe/.
It also occurs in queue, where a double U is avoided before ⟨ue⟩, as *quue would be ugly.
