⟨cz⟩
From Teflpedia
⟨cz⟩ is a very uncommon English consonant digraph formed of the letters C and Z.[1]
It’s essentially found in two words:
- In Czech Republic (and related words) as a Ch phoneme /ʧ/ such that Czech is homophonous with check and cheque /ʧek/.
- In czar where it can be pronounced /zɑː(r)/ or /tsɑː(r)/, i.e. z phoneme /z/.
