Words with this tend to be in the ꜱǫᴜᴀʀᴇ lexical set and pronounced with the ꜱǫᴜᴀʀᴇ vowel phoneme.

Example words include care, dare, fare, hare, pare, rare, tare, ware, Ware, etc. One exception is the sightword are which has the ꜱᴛᴀʀᴛ vowel phoneme.
