Don't worry if you've never edited a wiki before - it's very easy.
- Click here to go to our simple starter page.
- On the other hand you may want to go straight to the sandbox and play around there - you can't break anything.
How can I explore the wiki?
- You can enter a term into the search box to the left - if the article doesn't exist you can create it from there as well.
- You can have a look at the categories and select from there.
How is the Wiki structured?
The site is split into various spaces. In Mainspace we have (or rather we will have) articles associated with all aspects of teaching including: Definitions, methodologies, grammar, phonetics, TEFL Qualifications, teaching in different countries, reviews etc.
We have additional spaces not found on other wikis. These are:
“Free stuff space” - these are classes or other materials donated by contributors. You're welcome to download these and use them in class. In some cases you may later edit the material based on your experience of using it in class.
“Essay space” – this is provided for those who wish to write up their personal experiences, personal thoughts about teaching, advice to new teachers or simply moan about something. These will be the only articles which can be “owned” by an author, and they should not be edited by other users. Comments about them should be made on the essay’s talk page.
“Debate space” which is used for, ummmmm, well debates. Is there some hot topic you want to argue about? This is the place to start it.
Information on using the special spaces can be found here. These additional spaces exist so as to keep the wiki/encyclopaedia content seperate from the personal work/opinion content.
