I expect to be an occasional gnome here for a while, setting little things to rights as I stumble across them. No expertise to offer other than years of speaking and writing my first language, which is generic (midwest) US English. I've lived in non-anglophone environments off and on since the age of four, and every working day for the last dozen years I've conversed with non-English speakers, mostly Latin Americans. I find the process fascinating, verbal communication across idioms, that is.
I like to curl up with a good book, or better still, with someone special for an evening of watching the flickering light of the tellyvision. Lonely walks on the beach at sunset don't do it for me any more. ;-)
