TEAL

TEAL is the acronym for Teaching English as an Additional Language and is mainly aimed at school pupils who have settled in the UK, either for a short time or for those who have settled permanently.[1]

Generally speaking, it covers both English as a second language (ESL) and English as a foreign language (EFL) as it concerns children who speak a different language at home, while living in an English-speaking country, and only speak English at school. It therefore requires additional skills that go beyond "mere" language skills.
