Syllable-timed language

A syllable-timed language is one which is characterized by a rhythm marked by syllables which are perceived to occur at roughly regular intervals, regardless of the stress placed on them and in which each syllable lasts for the same length of time.

French and Spanish are syllable-timed languages.
