The learning process is the mechanism by which we learn. It includes acquiring coping skills, study techniques, being aware of and coming to terms with limiting beliefs/learning blocks, plus a whole series of non-academic issues.

It is important that teachers understand issues such the affective filter which may help or hinder the process.

Teachers, as "experts" in the processes of learning and teaching, need to transmit to the students their own wide-ranging knowledge of the subject to hand. They also need to ensure that this transmission fulfils the student's expectations.
